Vacancy - Head of Policy and Partnerships
Head of Policy and Partnerships for
The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC), Humberside
Salary: MP3 £55-59k*
Based at The Lawns, Cottingham (agile working available)
The OPCC has a strong focus on employing people that best fit with the ethos and culture of our team and are looking for someone that will embrace our values of Ambition, Brave, Connecting, Compassion and Trust. You will lead a team of committed professionals and add value to their work, enabling their development using coaching techniques to bring the best from them. We have high ambitions for ourselves and our communities so you will look to ensure best value from our commissioned services, demonstrate impact on our Police and Crime Plan and consider where new opportunities may arise to do more. You should be able to understand the mechanisms in which government policy is formed and how we contribute to influencing that and link into appropriate networks to maximise impact to our local communities. You will thrive working under pressure and be confident in communicating effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Whilst it would be great to have someone that knows who we are and what we do, who we work with, it isn’t our greatest requirement. We want the right person. We can easily give you the context of our working environment. We need the right skillset and values. That is our priority. We do need someone to be professionally astute, an ambassador for the OPCC in national networking opportunities, confident in their leadership style, effectively lead and develop others, be IT savvy and able to demonstrate that you can pick up new systems quickly to make best use of our performance and risk management system. Any experience of working in a statutory environment would be advantageous, particularly in understanding the criminal justice landscape and any partnership networks you may already have in place.
You will be required to work out of the main OPCC office based at The Lawns, Cottingham although we work to the ethos of being an ‘Employer of Choice’ and therefore do operate agile working which can accommodate flexible working requests.
You will work direct to the Chief Executive and form part of the OPCC leadership team. You will have three direct line reports and a wider team of five within your portfolio area.
