The Community Safety Fund can provide funding of between £500 and £35,000 towards projects that meet the scheme criteria and are led by voluntary and community sector organisations, social enterprises or town and parish councils.

To date, over £2.04m of funding has been committed through the Community Safety Fund to support projects that impact on crime and community safety at the local level, with further funding being made available to support the delivery of the Police and Crime Plan (2024-29) between 2025/26 and 2028/29.  This will see an overall investment of £3.35m by the end of the plan period.

Here is PCC Jonathan Evison describing the fund and visiting one of our successful projects.

Community Safety Fund Round 8

Round 8 of the Community Safety Fund is now live.

We are keen to support innovative projects which will reduce in crime / antisocial behaviour and improve community safety.

We are interested in creative and innovative ideas and don’t want to be too prescriptive about the projects we are looking for.  The following types of projects / activities are, however, likely to be “in scope” for this round of the Fund:

  • Purchase of equipment / assets which facilitate activities that will:
    • divert people from crime or antisocial behaviour taking place in the local area
    • support people who may be particularly at risk of becoming victims of crime, or have previously been victims of crime
  • Measures / minor capital work to improve the security of community buildings or assets e.g. security measures, fencing, CCTV, alarm systems etc (this should not include improvements that are a key part of ongoing property maintenance)
  • Measures to improve the safety of outdoor public spaces e.g. CCTV installation, fencing etc
  • Innovative approaches to tackling antisocial behaviour (not including standard youth outreach and diversionary activities)

Applications to the PCC’s Community Safety Fund can be made via our online grants portal – click here to apply. To start an application, please follow the prompts to register for a free user account from the homepage

Deadline for applications is 13 May, 12:00 noon.

Rounds 1 to 7 committed funding to 184 projects across the Humber covering a range of themes including target hardening, youth diversionary activities, reducing reoffending and support for victims. A total of 416 applications were submitted, requesting more than £6.7m of grant funding.
