In recognition of the White Ribbon campaign, the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) for Humberside is launching an important public awareness campaign to address domestic abuse and serious violence in our communities. The campaign aims to challenge harmful behaviours and provide vital support to those affected.
Jonathan Evison, Police and Crime Commissioner said “One of my key priorities is to improve community safety and support victims of crime. Domestic abuse continues to impact lives across our region, and this campaign aims to encourage us all to stand against violence, speak out against it and support those in need.
To maximise the reach of this year’s campaign, we have distributed information and awareness posters across a wide range of community settings; including GP and Dentist healthcare services, village halls and Veterinary practices, recognising that support and awareness should be accessible in all areas of our communities.”
The campaign includes:
- Posters featuring QR codes that link directly to local and national support services, making help more accessible to those in need.
- Tailored resources for both victims of domestic abuse and individuals seeking help to change harmful behaviours.
- Digital assets available for partner organisations, community groups, and local councils to share across their networks, amplifying the campaign’s reach.
Commissioner Evison continued “I encourage all local organisations, healthcare providers and community leaders to actively support this initiative. By signing up to be a White Ribbon accredited organisation, displaying campaign posters and sharing digital materials, we can all help ensure that vital support reaches those who need it most.
Together, we can raise awareness, challenge harmful behaviours, and build safer communities across our region.”
