Humberside Police and Salesforce Form Strategic Partnership to Drive Innovation In Policing

Humberside Police and Crime Commissioner, Jonathan Evison, has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Salesforce UK Limited on behalf of Humberside Police, marking a significant step forward in the force’s commitment to digital transformation and innovation in public service delivery.

Jonathan Evison, Police and Crime Commissioner for Humberside, commented “This partnership reflects our ambition for Humberside Police to be at the forefront of modern policing. In my Police and Crime Plan, which is developed based on public feedback, I committed to improving IT infrastructure to improve service delivery. By working with Salesforce, we are embracing innovation that will help us better serve our communities, support victims, and respond to emerging challenges with confidence.”

The three-year agreement formalises a collaborative relationship that will see Humberside Police work closely with Salesforce to explore and implement cutting-edge technologies aimed at improving operational efficiency, enhancing victim support, and strengthening community engagement.

Since becoming a Salesforce customer in early 2023, Humberside Police have already successfully deployed several digital solutions, including:

  • The Victim Journey initiative
  • My Police Portal
  • Witness Care enhancements
  • Robotic Process Automation
  • An internal Customer Relationship Management system for managing Data Protection Impact Assessments

These initiatives have positioned Humberside Police as a national leader in tech-enabled policing.

Building on successful initiatives like the Victim Journey programme and Witness Care, the collaboration will continue to improve how the force communicates with and supports victims of crime, ensuring timely and transparent updates.

Assistant Chief Officer Chris Philpott said: “We live in a fast-paced society with the majority of products and services generally available at the click of a button and it is important that we as a police force are able to adapt to the evolving landscape, leading the way on AI-driven policing to ultimately reduce crime, increase trust, and strengthen how we police.

“The integration of Salesforce has been a fantastic opportunity to not only work together with multiple partners but further transform the way we communicate with members of our community.

“Not only this, but it will empower officers with the forward-thinking tools to work more efficiently and engage more meaningfully with communities.”

Simon Collinson, Country Manager for Public Sector UK and Ireland at Salesforce said “This partnership with Humberside Police is about more than technology - it’s about reimagining how policing can meet rising public expectations, ease resource pressures, and build trust in a digital era. Salesforce brings expertise in AI and data, and combined with Humberside’s track record of innovation and commitment to citizen experience, we have an opportunity to improve victim and witness support, enhance operational efficiency, and position Humberside as a national trailblazer in how AI supports frontline police officers - creating a blueprint for modern policing across the UK."

The MoU is non-binding and carries no financial obligations for either party. It enables Humberside Police to access Salesforce’s full suite of technologies and expertise, while providing Salesforce with a live public sector environment to showcase its solutions.  It also sets the stage for future joint ventures, with each subject to rigorous governance and business case approval.
