North East Lincolnshire Council service manager Paul Caswell leads on the authority’s fight against anti-social behaviour across the region and his efforts earned a commendation from the Police and Crime Commissioner.
Paul’s work on early intervention and youth engagement in particular has been lauded. Not only has he overseen the creation of structured activities to take young people off the streets, he ensures qualified youth workers are involved to provide advice and guidance on all manner of social issues.
He said: “I’m immensely proud to receive this award from Leo and Jonathan and everyone in the PCC’s office.
“I have a fantastic team that is also very small. What makes it better is the voluntary sector organisations that we work with collectively across North East Lincolnshire. There’s such a lot of work going on out there and the benefit of this commendation is for everyone, not just me.
“It’s a collective because we all have very similar outcomes that we look for and that is to engage young people in positive activities to increase their resilience and confidence as well as giving them something to do. With adult ASB, we work closely with the homeless team, we link in with probation services and substance abuse organisations.
“It’s great for the whole of North East Lincolnshire to be recognised with this award because it is a whole team effort.”
Paul was nominated to be recognised for his work by Kerry Hillman from The Trin Centre in Cleethorpes.
Kerry’s submission included: “Paul Caswell consistently goes above and beyond his role by championing preventative solutions, working collaboratively with partners, and placing young people at the centre of community safety efforts. His dedication, innovation, and sustained commitment have made a lasting positive difference to North East Lincolnshire, and he is fully deserving of commendation for his exceptional effort and service.”
