The people of Humberside can have their say on crime and policing in the region as part of a new National Public Confidence in Policing Survey.
Launched in partnership between the College of Police and the National Police Chief’s Council, the survey aims to improve understanding of what shapes public confidence in policing, how confidence changes over time and what impact neighbourhood policing has on local communities.
Police and Crime Commissioner for Humberside Jonathan Evison said: “While my office conducts our own surveys on a regular basis, I would encourage the public to participate in this national survey. The more information and feedback we receive, the better.
“All information received helps to shape policing in this region. It tells us what the most pressing issues are and where services need directing as well as an important gauge of how satisfied people are with Humberside Police.”
The survey covers topics including:
- crime and anti-social behaviour in your area
- how safe you feel where you live
- experiences of crime, anti-social behaviour and police contact
- neighbourhood policing
- how effective and fair you think the local police are
- your trust and confidence in the police
To take part in the survey, register for free with Neighbourhood Alert. As well as selecting whether or not you wish to receive information from a variety of public services, registering also allows you to save your progress in filling in the survey and return to it at a later point.
Registration also allows researchers to gain a true picture of changing perceptions over time.
