Have you been a victim of crime in the past five years? Whether you reported the crime to the police or chose not to, the Victims’ Commissioner would like to hear from you.
The Victims’ Commissioner for England and Wales, Claire Waxman OBE, has launched the 2026 Victim Survey to gather insights into victims’ experiences of crime, support services, and the criminal justice system.
This year’s survey builds on previous findings and aims to include the experiences of a wider range of victims. In particular, it seeks to better understand the perspectives of those who did not engage with the police or criminal justice system, to ensure their voices are represented and heard.
The survey is open from 8 April to 6 May 2026 and is available to complete online, by phone, or in a paper format.
- To access the online survey, view the survey page.
- For a Welsh translation, visit the translated survey page (fersiwn Gymraeg)
- To request a paper copy, or arrange a telephone survey, email engage@tonic.org.uk.
The survey includes questions about victims’ experiences – both for those who interacted with the criminal justice system and those who did not.
